Two things from work collide to arrive at this week's selection - poetry and biscuits.
My employer has gone pretty big on the whole poetry thing of late. Poets are appearing on advertising and internal branding, and colleagues near and far are writing their own ditties.
My work family have always been fairly keen on biscuits and this was formalised recently in our own biscuit world cup, won by Fox's Chocolate Viennese.
So, merging the two I can bring you the 'Bard of Salford', 'The Punk Poet' - Dr John Cooper Clarke. (If I complain about being subjected to dull and worthy poetry at all it's because I've been admiring his poems such as Beasley Street, Gimmix and (I Married a) Monster From Outer Space since I was in my teens.)*
JCC (as I'll call him from here) has been performing** since the late 1970s with this selection coming from his 1982 album Zip Style Method.
This reflection on a travelling biscuit salesman isn't among his greatest work but who can resist lines like?:
"munchety munch
this is the punchlinecrunchety crunch
they last you a lunchtime"
There's no video available for whatever reason so please go here and read the words.

*I'm 'inspired' to write haiku every so often but I can't come close to matching this effort from the great man.
**As I'm seeing the great man perform tomorrow there's every chance he could be in this slot again next week.
