Orange Juice: Bridge

Track of the Week - 20 August 2017

I had a couple of days off with Mrs Tea at Johnny's this week and we popped over to Cardiff on one of them.

I've been to Wales a few times in recent years (and recent weeks) but it must have been 15 years since I drove over the Severn Bridge. You forget how big it is.

So my song for this week is Bridge by Orange Juice. It's from their rather fine 1984 mini-album Texas Fever. It's the first track at the link below but you won't be disappointed* if you hang around for the rest.


(The other track I'd considered for this week was Gene Pitney's magnificent Twenty Four Hours From Tulsa as I think the Severn Bridge appears in the video. But that would have been the old bridge so that might have been too tenuous a connection even for me.)
