Track of the Week - 3 September 2017
My dad has been a long-standing allotment holder and yesterday I took him to his local allotment association's annual horticultural show. (His movement's not so good these days so he needed help getting there.)
He wasn't able to take part in the competitions this year but two of my nieces won prizes in the children's design/craft categories.
It was a nice thing to go to. There was a lovely display of flowers and also some extraordinary veg. Leeks like truncheons, Onions as big as a baby's head and wheelbarrow-filling pumpkins. Quite a sight.
This Jesus and Mary Chain track is the b-side of their 1984 debut single Upside Down. Vegetable Man is a cover of a track Syd Barrett wrote for Pink Floyd in 1967 which only kicked around on bootlegs until 2016 when it was officially released.
I've never heard the original but the JAMC version is a racket.
There's no embedded video this week so if you're still interested then here's the link
