Track of the Week - 25 February 2018
This week I met up with some of my old work family for a belated birthday bash. There was a surprise for me in the shape of some birthday/leaving presents from them and the wider team - a new set of darts and a personalised darts shirt.
The darts feel good and the shirt is fab. Black with silver writing, collar and what you might call, trim. It is undoubtedly one of my favourite shirts.
Which is an effortless segue into this 1981 pop/jazz/funk debut single by Haircut One Hundred. I don't think I bought it this at the time as I was probably getting into the more post-punk kind of bands but I know good pop music when I see it.
Favourite Shirts (Boy Meets Girl) reached number four and singer Nick Heyward gives it the full preppy, jumper over the shoulders treatment in this Top of the Pops clip.
