Track of the Week - 4 November 2018
I had a couple of trips over to my mum's house this week as she was having some replacement windows fitted. (To the house, not her. A woman in her seventies walking round with windows attached to her? Ridiculous. What are you thinking?)
First trip was to meet my uncle who's a retired structural engineer who wanted to show me about potential problems in part of the work. (It was to do with lintels - everything was fine.) Then a couple of days later I was over there while the work took place.
The company that did the work were a nice bunch of blokes and look to have done a great job. If you need any replacement windows give me a shout and I can tell you more.
It strikes me that We Are Glass would be a good slogan for a replacement windows company. As well as being an excellent track from Gary Numan.
I did buy a string of Numan's synth-pop singles at this time but never bought an album. Perhaps my paper round money didn't stretch that far at the time.
We Are Glass reached number five in the spring of 1980. I think it stands up really well after nearly 40 years.
