Track of the Week - 30 June 2019
There's some building work going on near to Tea at Johnny's Towers. This week a massive drill turned up. Massive. A huge corkscrew design thing that must have been 70 feet high at its full extension. It looked like something out of Thunderbirds.
It was also hooked up to a concrete mixer so as earth was displaced by the drill so the concrete poured in. That's how it looked anyway, I'm not an expert.
The Drill by The Wake is from a 1983 John Peel session. It's a bit early New Order which is good but probably didn't help them in their career that much as they always had that comparison to live up to.
I enjoyed rediscovering this, might have to give the records a spin again. Thanks massive drill!
