Track of the Week - 7 June 2020
I saw my mum this week for the first time since mid-March. She hasn't wanted to do the video calling thing so it's very probably been the longest period of my life that I haven't seen her for.
She was much the same as I left her but with longer hair. Same here.
My 'mother' song is Tracy Bonham's Mother Mother from her excellent 1996 album The Burdens of Being Upright. It's a song about saying that everything is fine when it isn't.
I haven't listened to any Tracy Bonham records in recent times so I don't know if she's still as angry. There's a lot to be angry about right now. I sometimes think that music has helped me in that regard. Cranking up The Fall, or Idles or Fledermaus Can't Get It by Von Südenfed has certainly helped me at times over the past couple of years.
Let 1990s Tracy Bonham be angry for you so you can concentrate on how to make stuff better.
