Track of the Week - 24 October 2021
Been another struggle for a choice this week. As I went to see Swindon Town's tame 3-1 defeat to Bradford City yesterday I've settled on Tame by Pixies.
The second track on the excellent 1989 album Doolittle it is on point with the group's loud, quiet, loud mentality that influenced so many bands around this time.
Black Francis' extraordinary vocal delivery towards the end of the two minute track might reflect some of the stronger feelings about Swindon's performance yesterday. (Not me. Disappointing (and cold) as it was I'm just pleased to be there.)
Terrific song, much better than the game yesterday.
