Track of the Week - 10 October 2021
Tea at Johnny's Towers relocated to Shropshire for a few days this week. While we were there we had a trip to Llandrindod Wells to visit the National Cycle Museum.
If you like bicycles and the history/development and paraphernalia associated with that mode of transport then this is a great place to drop in on. If you're less keen on bicycles then maybe it wouldn't be for you.
This week we also learned of the death of Pat Fish aka The Jazz Butcher. I knew barely any of his work but I enjoyed the few things I did hear, on cassettes from my friendly colleague Colin back in the late 80s/early 90s,
And the best of all those tracks was Bicycle Kid which is from the 1989 album Big Planet Scarey Planet*. It's a cracking little tune about "evolution in reverse" but does contain a couple of swears if that upsets you.
* The first track on the album is called New Invention. We had to drive through a place called New Invention on our way to the museum - the world moves is mysterious ways...
