Track of the Week - 22 May 2022
Yep, time for a weather song. We had a thunderstorm this week. Briefly, anyway. I think we were more on the edge of it but it was pretty close for a couple of minutes.
I've always enjoyed a thunderstorm. I remember one occasion when I was younger, counting lightning flashes at night and then going to junior school and comparing numbers with classmates. The consensus was over 300. Don't get them like that any more.
Storm was the first single by jazz/soul outfit Carmel. Just Carmel McCourt's great voice, a bit of double bass and a hint of percussion. There's very little like this in my collection. Maybe their follow-up, Bad Day, not sure.
It's very good at what it does but I generally listen to more upbeat/louder music these days.
