Track of the Week - 21 August 2022
Popped down to Winchester this week. Nice place, might pop back when it's a bit less busy. Had a look at the cathedral from the outside but didn't go in. Other things to do. Maybe another time.
The New Vaudeville Band released the novelty song Winchester Cathedral in 1966. In a kind of 1920s dance band style it made the top ten in the UK and number one in America. (It was knocked off the top twice. First by Good Vibrations and then by I'm A Believer. The sixties were an odd place.)
