Track of the Week - 9 October 2022
I mentioned my new volunteering last week and threatened to drag it out to get more content. Well here we are!
Part of my role is working in a small cafe section of the building so I get to spend a bit of time, wait for it... behind the counter. I enjoy it. I didn't enjoy it so much when the till went wrong and proved difficult to fix but at least it wasn't my fault.
Behind the Counter was a 1993 single by The Fall (it reached the heady heights of number 75) and was also on the patchy album Middle Class Revolt that followed in 1994.
Nothing patchy about this, it's a banger as the young people say. Mark E Smith is on top form, it has a fantastic bass line and even the whistles seem to fit.
