Franz Ferdinand: The Fallen

Track of the week - 5 March 2023

I fell over this week. It's ok, no damage done.

I'd just done the 'big shop' and a gust of wind blew one of my unused 'bags for life' out of the trolley and across the car park. I don't like littering so I thought I'd better set off in hot pursuit after it.

I was just about in reaching distance when I lost my footing and stumbled forward. As I was already bending towards the escaped bag I didn't have far to fall and so went down on hands and knees then styled into a roll and gathering up of the bag.

I don't think anyone saw. It could be on CCTV of course. Security will have had a laugh about that.

The Fallen by Franz Ferdinand isn't about someone coming to grief chasing a bag across an Asda car park but is heavy on New Testament references.

It's an excellent 2006 single from their excellent second album You Could Have It So Much Better which was released the year before.
