Track of the Week - 2 April 2023
Spoilt for choice this week after an interesting morning at my volunteering:
1) Someone got stuck in the lift (briefly) until the doors were able to be prised open
2) Had a visit from the police to check the building out as there was a possibility that a notable person or persons* would be attending the following day.
Let's go with 2).
It was a bit of a surprise when one of my volunteering colleagues came up to me and said: 'the police would like to see you'. Thankfully they soon explained the nature of their business and I could show them round the building and answer (most of) their questions.
I wasn't allowed to tell anyone though. I had to keep it under wraps until after the following day.
Had to work quite hard there to get this fantastic song by Scottish indie rockers The Delgados in. Under Canvas Under Wraps is the lead track on their 1996 debut album Domestiques. It reached number 186 in the chart but more importantly reached number three in John Peel's Festive Fifty that year.
* The Labour Party launched their local election campaign the following day. Some of the leadership team were on site.
