This last couple of weeks I've spent two days as part of an interview panel. It wasn't something I ever had to do during my career but I was asked to be a part of the process for one of the places I volunteer. They had some funding for a couple of permanent staff.
It's certainly interesting being sat that side of the table for a change. Seeing how people approach the process, how they answer/avoid the questions and the level of passion they bring to the conversation.
After seeing every candidate thankfully all the people involved in interviewing were on the same page with regards to who should be offered the posts. My decision wasn't out of step with the people more experienced at that sort of thing. Now we have to see if they decide to accept the offer.
So it's sounds like a decision sort of week so let's bring out The Young Knives and their excellent 2005 single The Decision from their also excellent album from the following year, Voices of Animals and Men.
