Football has been a returning theme over the course of these posts. Whether it be going to see a game in the flesh with friends or watching England's international tournament matches on the tv, also with friends or occasionally with family or Mrs Tea at Johnny's.
It's been tv viewing recently with Euro 2024 ongoing. England haven't been over-impressive (their performances in the early stages of the tournament were largely joyless in fact) but have done what's needed to get to the final.
The possession-based style of football that's prevalent at the moment often has you wondering 'will anything happen?' That was certainly the case in England's semi-final with the Netherlands when, after a decent first half, the second was much less interesting.
The game was drifting towards, a potentially turgid period of, extra time when something did happen. Ollie Watkins happened. His control and shot to the far post winning the game and resulting in possibly the loudest noise, courtesy of me and my chums that were watching, at Tea at Johnny's Towers since we lived there.
Will Anything Happen? is from Blondie's excellent Platinum-selling 1978 album Parallel Lines. It's one of the punkier tracks on the album and rattles along nicely.
Could England win the final? "Will it come true? Will anything happen?"
