Track of the Week - Beck: Chemtrails

Winter can be a struggle. The short days, the slate grey monotonous skies, the piercing cold, the damp... so it's always good to see a sunny winter's day, like yesterday.

The sun was doing its best to warm things through and, in the main, blue skies reminding us that this season won't last forever. There were no clouds to speak of apart from some high cirrus and various contrails criss-crossing the sky. Or are they chemtrails?

There is a conspiracy theory that we're being sprayed with chemical and/or biological agents for unspecified (most likely nefarious) purposes and these trails are the evidence. I'll let you decide on that one but it put me in mind of this song by Beck.

From his 2008 album Modern Guilt (well worth a listen) it's a bleak, haunting tune that still manages to have an air of beauty. Enjoy.
