Track of the week - 26 July 2015
I was a steward at a work event this week where the public were invited. My job was to direct them to the meeting hall. This involved standing around for a long time.
I was posted near the medical assistance room and the people in there asked me if I wanted a drink. I turned them down at first thinking it wasn't the done thing to be seen drinking on the job. But then one of my colleagues asked me if I wanted a bottle of water that I could perch behind me to take a sip out of every now and again.
I said while that would be nice the medical assistance people had offered me a cuppa, could I take them up on it? I was given the go-ahead. The delicious brew was made and when it went quiet I would take a few steps from my post, nip into their room and have a slurp of tea. Joy! If any of the bigwigs caught me I could say that I was receiving medical assistance.
To celebrate lovely medical assistance people, quiet time and tea itself, here's Kula Shaker's rather mad homage to tea from 2007. I'm off to put the kettle on.
