Track of the week - 15 Nov 2015 (part one)
When I started this feature back at the start of the year the intention was for it to be a kind of musical diary or autobiography. A bit of fun to give me a chance to do something creative, in a disciplined way, on a subject I've had a long relationship with.
However, the terrible events in Paris yesterday can't be glossed over. While my job heavily relies on the use of words, sometimes I just don't have the words - so I'll turn to music to say what I'm feeling.
This selection is for the title. It's the best way I've found to sum up how I feel. This 2009 single isn't one of Morrissey's best, but it's a long way from his worst. He may well say something controversial about the attacks (he has previous for that sort of thing) so using this as my tiny piece of support for the Parisians appeals to my contrary side too.
Normal service for Track of the Week will resume tomorrow in its usual unimportant way. For many families, in Paris and beyond, normal service will never be resumed.
