Track of the Week - 14 February 2016
A few of my work family headed down to Slough last night for a wedding reception for another of our friendly colleagues. After a good night out we fancied a singalong on the car journey home.
The inclement weather meant that getting reception to an 80s radio station was proving impossible. Some clever technical gizmos were employed so that we could hook a playlist on a phone through to the car stereo.
The first selection was 10cc's 1978 number one Dreadlock Holiday*. Unfortunately our timing was such that the song started playing exactly when we were diverted from the motorway for a bit. This meant that 'satnav lady' had plenty to say, interrupting the song on numerous occasions.
We'd re-start the song only for 'satnav lady' to pipe up, with supreme comic timing, just as we were about to burst into the "I don't like cricket" bit. Eventually we turned her off.
So here, for the Slough Road Trip crew, is an uninterrupted version.
* One of the first singles I bought if I recall rightly. From WH Smith's. I think for 49p.
