They Might Be Giants: Whistling in the Dark

Track of the Week - 26 February 2017

As it's been a largely uneventful week for me I've had to pick out a minor incident to write about.

It was in the early hours of Monday morning when I was woken by the sound of someone whistling. In fact, it sounded very much like they were whistling the end of Fibre Book Troll by the Fall. (It's very noisy and sweary so if you hit that link you'll need to go to 5:15 for the whistling.)

It was a little while before I emerged from my slumbers enough to realise that it was a blackbird (or possibly two) kicking off the dawn chorus. So good news, this must mean spring is coming. Less good news, I was awake at four o'clock in the morning.

More good news is that you can hear this quirky number by They Might Be Giants from their excellent 1990 album Flood. I've also stumbled across a Lego video someone made for a school project so I think we're all winners. It runs out of ideas after a while but then don't we all.
