The Fall: New Facts Emerge

Track of the Week: 6 August 2017

It's not often I bring you something current, let alone from the official charts* but that's what's happening this week.

I veer from my usual 'diary of a no-name' theme to bring you a record I bought recently, The Fall's 32nd studio album, New Facts Emerge.

On early listening I'm not that taken by it. Would it get my top 25 Fall albums? Not sure.

There hasn't been a Fall album which has had no merit at all though and there are a couple of tracks on this one that are worth adding to any list of great Fall recordings.

Here's the title track. The group rock and Mark E Smith shouts weird stuff ('stop shaking down those frogs') in the right places. Proper Fall.
