Track of the Week - 24 September 2017
Mrs Tea at Johnny's and I are back from a holiday in beautiful (but rather wet*) Slovenia.
As well as the coastal town of Portoroz we spent some time the capital Ljubljana. It's a lovely city, particularly in rare moments of sunshine, but our hotel had a drawback.
It was very close to the Franciscan Church of the Annunciation. 'But it's a stunning-looking building,' you say. 'What's wrong with that?'
The bells are what's wrong with that. They chime every quarter of an hour. Day and night. Not great for sleeping. Everything else was great. I wouldn't put you off going. But stay a bit further away from the bells.
So here's a They Might Be Giants album track for you. The Bells are Ringing is from the excellent 1996 release Factory Showroom.
* When our taxi driver picked us up from the airport (in the rain) and said 'we call ourselves the frog-people.' Maybe that was a weather clue.
