Track of the Week - 21 January 2018
There were two possible routes for this week's selection. I spent much of the week as a 'plumber's mate' (my father-in-law was working at my mum and dad's house.) Not doing the tricky stuff you understand - more fetching, carrying, hauling an old bath down the stairs, that sort of thing.
So I've been wracking my brains for a plumbing-related song and come up with nothing. If you know a song about cutting tiles or carrying shower trays about then fair play to you. (Yes, I saw there was one by "Weird Al" Yankovic when I googled it but I wasn't going there.)
So I shall take you instead to my old work's delayed Christmas party - I was grateful to have an invite and catch up with my work family. As well as the club tunes, drink tokens and bbq food the main attraction was rockaoke. We've been here before...
As well as singing Daydream Believer I 'treated' the audience to my Common People once more. The song was a massive hit for Pulp in 1995 and for me is one of the defining records of the Britpop era. Here's how it's done properly...
