Marine Girls: Lazy Ways

Track of the Week - 14 January 2018

I'm trying to get used to this not going to work thing and telling myself that it's ok to fall asleep in front of the darts on a weekday afternoon.

I haven't been completely lazy, I've helped my mum with some accounts and sorted through all the stuff I emptied out of my work locker and been out for lunch with Mrs Tea at Johnny's but the week has been, shall we say,  on the relaxed side.

Lazy Ways is the title track of the Marine Girls 1983 album. Their second album, it's far better produced than their first (Beach Party) but still has the same sweet indie-pop tunes running through it.

If you recognise the singer's voice it's Tracey Thorn of Everything But the Girl fame. I could write more but the sofa is calling.

(I could only find the Peel Session version but it's still very good.)
