10cc: Art for Art's Sake

Mrs Tea at Johnny's likes to paint in her spare time and over the past year has started working more on miniature art.

This interest (and talent) has led to her having three paintings accepted into the Hilliard Society of Miniaturists' annual exhibition. Naturally we went down to Wells and have a look.

She didn't win any of the awards and at time of writing hasn't sold any of the paintings but it wasn't really about that. It was about getting her work accepted into one of the foremost miniature society's in the country. Art for art's sake if you will.

10cc were massively successful in the early part of the 1970s but by the time Art for Art's Sake was released in 1975 there was increasing tension in the band.  The song reached number five but there would only be one more release with the original line-up before Kevin Godley and Lol Creme left to work on their own projects.
