Track of the Week - 5 August 2018
My brother had a significant birthday recently and we celebrated with a big family party at my mum's house (I have to get used to calling it my mum's house.)
I'm sure my dad would have partly enjoyed being surrounded by his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren but he would have also enjoyed it when everybody had gone home. "Hasn't it gone quiet?" would have been the first thing he said after closing the door.
So, for my brother here's My Brother by actor and comedian Terry Scott. Released in 1962, it was something that was regularly played on the radio show Junior Choice which generally started our Saturdays when we were young - dad would have been singing along.
It's a novelty record that relays a brother's affection for his somewhat naughtier younger sibling. I don't know why I should have picked this one!
