Track of the Week - 6 January 2019
After last week's post about what you might call absent friends, this one is about friends who are very much present.
It was our (30th?) annual Highworth 10 yesterday. A New Year gathering of the clan if you will, with some of the guys who we don't see often making a several hour drive to join us.
The night was its usual fantastic mix of pub games, quizzes and reminiscences (with photos this time!) plus a few pints and a curry (although with the restaurant shutting earlier than some pubs it was eat and get back out for one more.)
Adam and the Ants' Friends is a list record with Adam reeling through a host of varied names including Mr. Pastry, Nobby Stiles and Stevie Wonder to name just three while suggesting that people were name-dropping to try getting on the guestlist for his gigs
It's a song from 1978 that was re-recorded for the b-side of the 1981 single Ant Rap. I'm not sure which one this is. My money's on the older one but I'm not that bothered and I'm tired.
