Track of the Week - 7 April 2019
It was Saturday evening, I'd just finished dinner and there was a knock at the door. It was our next door neighbour's (on the left) partner who had a simple but urgent question - 'where was the tap to turn the water off?' They had a leak.
I told him it was under the sink and after finding exactly where under the sink went next door to see how they were getting on. Not well was the answer.
I went in to their kitchen, found the tap (or stopcock if you will) in a very wet cupboard under the sink and turned it off. I left them to deal with the wet kitchen and the source of the leak, and went home with the glow of a non-practical man who has just achieved something practical.
Okay, it wasn't a flood in there but it was pretty wet and as I'm a They Might Be Giants fan it's a reason to use this track which opens their excellent 1990 album Flood.
It also comes in at less than 30 seconds which is around the same amount of time it took me to find the stopcock and turn the water off.
