Track of the Week - 8 September 2019
It was great to meet up with some of my old work family over a couple of drinks this week.
We always loved a quiz so to accompany the general catch-up chit-chat I devised a generic darts-based quiz game that in no way resembled the TV game show Bullseye.
Jim Bowen hosted the show which has become a legendary example of the quiz show format, not least for inappropriate prizes (a speedboat for people who live in a Midlands block of flats for example.) It ran from 1981 to 1995.
An attempted reboot fronted by Dave Spikey ran for 30 episodes in 2006. It would appear that Alan Carr will be trying to resurrect it later this year. I'd be surprised if it worked for lots of different reasons that I can't be bothered to go into here.
So here's the classic Bullseye opening credits. Ah, nostalgia!
* John Patrick wrote the theme - I haven't been able to find out who performed it.
