The Hollies: Bus Stop

Track of the Week - 15 September 2019

A water main burst near where we live this week (stay with me on this one.) One of the knock-on effects (apart from having no water late one evening) is that a road on the local bus route is being dug up and is unusable while the repairs take place.

It seems like the message that the bus won't be stopping where it normally does hasn't got out properly. I've had to tell a couple of people that the bus won't be stopping there when I've been out for a walk and given one of our elderly neighbours a lift to a different stop as she needed to get into town for a train.

What a neighbourly young man I turned out to be!

The Hollies formed in Manchester in 1962. Their pop rock style was massively popular in the 60s and 70s and they still perform. Bus Stop, written by future 10cc member Graham Gouldman, was a UK number five in 1966 and the band's first US top ten hit.
