Track of the Week - 6 October 2019
My youngest niece has taken up athletics recently. The club she joined was having a trials day so I went along to see her run.
She perhaps didn't pace herself well enough in the 600 metres but maybe sprinting's more her thing as she won her heat of the 75 metres.
While I was having a chat with my brother-in-law I didn't realise that the starter had moved close to where we were stood for one event. When he fired the starting pistol it was pretty loud and made me, well, start!
If you're here you're probably aware of how massive The Jam were, particularly in a four-year spell from late 1978 until their break-up. Start!, released in August 1980 was their second number one and is also on their terrific album Sound Affects.
(It also massively 'borrows' from Taxman by The Beatles.)
