Track of the week - 17 May 2020
With a (slight) easing of the lockdown this week the advice on face masks changed. It's now advised that we should wear a face covering on public transport or in enclosed spaces where we can't guarantee social distancing.
As I had to do a 'big shop' this week I needed a mask. There was some instruction on the internet about how to make one out of an old sock that worked to a degree but in the end Mrs Tea at Johnny's used her sewing machine put a decent one together.
Outside it made my glasses steam up (I won't be driving in one!) but inside it worked ok.
The Fall's Mask Search is from their 2011 album Ersatz GB. It's not one I've held in a huge amount of affection but on hearing this track I might have to revisit it.
It's a super slice of punkabilly with Mark E Smith's somewhat sparse lyrics ('I'm so sick of Snow Patrol') apparently drawn from a survey about what makes Britain unhappy.
