The Wedding Present: Secretary

Mrs Tea at Johnny's and I had a trip out to the Hawk Conservancy Trust near Andover this week. If you like your birds of prey it's a great place to go.

There's lots of amazing birds to look at but the displays are the highlights. Having vultures fly just above your head is far cooler than it sounds! (Vultures are much misunderstood - learn to love them.)

Star of the show for me though was the secretary bird. It doesn't do a lot of flying but spends most of the time walking about looking for it's prey. And if it finds a snake it does its utmost to kick its head in, as demonstrated with a rubber snake on the day.
