Track of the Week - 7 March 2021
Is house numbering complicated where you live? It is round here.
Some streets continue around corners and onto what you think are different roads. Some seem to stop, change names and then carry on. Tea at Johnny's Towers is on a road where some of the front doors of the houses face east, some of them north and some to the west.
It's also near another row of dwellings that we get mistaken for. Sometimes by parcel delivery drivers but most often by takeaway suppliers. The people who live in a nearby house of the same number must like their takeaways judging from the number of people I divert that way.
So, in a week where nothing much has happened, I'm picking The Fall's My Door is Never. Mark E Smith delivers a more reserved sprechgesang vocal on the track that works really well.
It's from their 2007 album Reformation Post TLC which has some high points but in total isn't their finest work.
So, takeaway drivers - my door is never the one you think it is.
