Toots and the Maytals: Pressure Drop

Track of the Week - 28 March 2021

My regular reader (thank you, whoever you are) has seen more bore on about my eye health for the last five years. More of that this week...

It was time for a check-up to see if the laser procedure of six weeks ago had made any difference. Thankfully it had and my intraocular pressure is back in the desired range. Good news.

There hasn't been a lot of reggae in these selections so let's put that right with Toots and the Maytals' Pressure Drop. (Strictly speaking they were just called The Maytals when this was recorded in 1969. "Toots" Hibbert was the frontman with the group from the off but that moniker wasn't appended to the group name until 1972.)

Covered by the likes of The Clash and The Specials it isn't about eye pressure but is about karmic justice. And it's a great tune.
