Track of the Week - 8 January 2022
We had our family Christmas meal last week, These things have to be timed to avoid home games in the football season.
After the meal and washing up was done my mum brought out some scrapbooks containing a host of old photos of her children and grandchildren. These provoked a lot of happy memories, puzzlement about other people and places pictured, and not a little amusement.
So from those 'picture books' I can unashamedly use The Kinks' Picture Book which is from their fantastic 1968 album The Kinks Are the Village Green Preservation Society. Ray Davies wrote the song and is on vocals. There's not a lot to it but what there is feels just right.
There was one particular photo of me "sat in the sun on a hot afternoon' which really fits the bill. No, I'm not posting it!
