New Order: Confusion

Track of the Week - 27 March 2022

Long story short, there was a bit of confusion over whether my usual volunteering session was taking place this week. It was, but that was only confirmed to me less than 40 minutes before it was due to start. And I live a half hour bus ride away.

Ok I was a bit late and missed lunch but the session went ahead so well done me.

As nothing much else of note happened this week I'm using this as enough reason to use New Order's 1983 single Confusion. Influenced by their time around the New York clubs and dance music scene (and produced by DJ Arthur Baker) as the follow-up to Blue Monday there's still a bit of a feeling that they're learning what they can do with the synths and sequencers.

It still stands up as a good example of what they were trying to do but is perhaps a bit more clinical than their best work. Anyway - ra-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-hey!
