Track of the Week - 20 March 2022
Wet leg? Wet everything more like. Long-time readers (bless you) will know that I make a trip to Cheltenham Festival every year and this year was no exception.
Leaving aside my propensity to pick horses that finished second or third the main talking point was the weather on the Wednesday. It hacked it down with rain all day.
The trouble was the weather forecast that morning hadn't predicted it. The meteorologist on the 7am local news (thank you Dan Downs!) had suggested a shower later in the day but not a lot more. By the time we reached Cheltenham the rain had set in and it was too late to do anything about it clothes-wise.
We were 'drowned rats' an hour before the first race. My ticket, which had been inside my jacket, was so soggy it was barely able to be scanned in at the entrance.
So, Too Late Now by Wet Leg fits the bill nicely this week. It's the Isle of Wight-based indie-popsters' third single and the best new song I've heard this year. (Ok it was released last November but I'm not on the new music curve these days.)
