Bob & Earl: Harlem Shuffle

Track of the week - 7 August 2022

I Haven't been to Harlem or done much shuffling for that matter but I did play shuffleboard this week when I had a fun couple of hours with some of my old work family.  It wasn't the deck version but a tabletop game. I loved it, I'll be going back.

So that's a reason for using Harlem Shuffle this week. I'm sure it was on the radio recently too. And it featured in the #poptograms quiz by @fruiteatingbear not so long ago. Kind of serendipity. Or coincidence. Or frequency illusion.

Bob & Earl were an American 1960s R&B combo who made little impression on the charts. Harlem Shuffle was a minor hit in the states on release in 1963 but it it took a reissue six years later for it to crack the top ten on this side of the pond.
