Track of the Week - 27 November 2022
This does feel a week late but I generally write these on a Sunday morning and pick something out that relates to my previous Sunday to Saturday. So it counts.
The 2022 World Cup is well under way and you probably have your opinions on it. Me too. We can have a chat about it when I see you next.
My World Cup choice is The Official Colourbox World Cup Theme. I can't believe I didn't use it four years ago as I think it's fantastic.
It was written in 1986 in the hope that it might be used by one of the tv channels covering that tournament. It wasn't but should have been.
I was a big fan of Colourbox at the time and their electronic music and use of samples. They went on to become half of M|A|R|R|S (you remember Pump Up The Volume) then never recorded again. Shame.
Still, we have this amongst various other great tracks. Let's have the 12 inch version in all its glory.
