This week my friend Cliff and I visited Bonita Racing Stables* at Ogbourne Maizey near Marlborough, the training base of Emma Lavelle and her team.
We were invited I should point out. We have shares in horses that are being trained there. (Neither of us are Rockefeller - we own about 1/3000th of horses through the Owners Group company.)
It was a lovely morning and also informative and entertaining. We saw some horses working and then paraded in the stable yard.
There was a surprise in that one of the horses appearing was the retired former champion staying hurdler Paisley Park. The horse didn't enjoy leaving the stables after his racing career ended and is back in the yard, preferring the surroundings and routine.
So Paisley Park by Prince and The Revolution is the selection. The single was a top 20 hit in 1985 and featured on the patchy and odd at times album Around The World in a Day.
* You're right, I did consider La Isla Bonita by Madonna. Maybe if I go back.
