Track of the Week - 10 January 2016
Yesterday was the day for my annual real friends' big get-together, The Highworth 10.
This is now a firmly established tradition in our calendar and we've been doing this so long we can't really remember when we started. (1989 or 1990 is our best guess.)
Back then the idea was to have a pint in each of the ten pubs in the town. Time has marched on. There are now only seven pubs and many more of us reach for the halves, shorts and fruit-based drinks long before the last pub. The night is more about meeting up and having a good night (friends make the trip from Derby and Cornwall among other places) than getting hammered in a competitive environment.
But to hark back to those early days of our supposed drinking indestructibility here's Brazilian rock crazies CSS with their 2007 single Alcohol. Like a lot of their early work, it's a bit bizarre but none the worse for that.
