Track of the Week - 19 November 2017
I've got my shoehorn out again this week so I bring this track into your lives.
I went to Cheltenham races on Friday* with my horse racing chums to see the opening day of the November meeting which is generally recognised as the first big event of the National Hunt (or 'Jumps') season.
Now I've explained that dubious connection, I can tell you about this track.
From 1984, and tucked on the b-side of All I Need Is Everything, it's a cover of the Van Halen top ten hit of the same year. Aztec Camera came through the Scottish indie scene in 1980 and had signed to a major label by the time of this release so were having their rougher edges slightly polished.
I've gone for the 'Loaded Version' of this track as, after three and a half minutes of a beautiful acoustic treatment of Van Halen's synth metal effort, there's an electric guitar solo that cheers me up every time I hear it.
* I even had a winner and we had a slice of the Placepot too.
