Track of the Week (part two) - 7 January 2018

As mentioned in the previous post I left work this week. After 21 years in a great organisation (on top of 14 in a previous one) I was very ready to get off the hamster wheel for a bit and have a break.

The downside of this of course is that I won't see my wonderful work family and friendly colleagues so much. They will leave a big hole in my life. It's a bit like a break-up in that respect.

So I give a you a break-up song. One of the very best in my opinion. I've mentioned before my conviction that David Gedge of The Wedding Present and Cinerama is the greatest songwriter on relationships and he nails it again here.

From the stunning 2016 album Going, Going... Little Silver fits between the tracks Two Bridges (where the singer is trying to make a decision) and Bear (where he wonders if he's made a mistake.) The whole album tells a relationship story and if you want to know how it ends you'll have to listen to it. I can't recommend it highly enough.
