Track of the Week (part one) - 7 January 2018
Does your work have some sort of ethos that runs through it? Maybe in the form of a mnemonic?
Ours was PRIDE. I say 'was' because I left work last week (more on this in part two) so I no longer have to live by a company ethos and can now live by my own. Which is remarkably similar.
I can now say bye bye to PRIDE and have this fortunately-titled song to sing as I wave it off.
The Go-Betweens were an excellent Aussie indie rock/pop band and made a couple of my favourite albums in the mid-late eighties. This track is from the brilliant Tallulah and was a 1987 single that criminally didn't dent the charts.
If you're a regular reader of this stuff you'll know I like writing. Bye Bye Pride has a beautiful, poetic lyric that intimidates me enormously and makes me think I should hang up the keyboard.
