Soft Cell: Numbers

Track of the Week - 25 March 2018

After my Cheltenham break it was back to routine and my volunteering day on Tuesday.

In the morning I help out with a maths group at my local Mind. Some of it is about maths but some of it is about routine and socialising for the service users.

I get to help with anything from adding up through to angles and fractions so I also get to brush up on my numbers.

This Numbers is from British synth-pop duo Soft Cell's second studio album, The Art of Falling Apart, and was also a 1983 single that reached number 25. Their commercial power was already waning after the early string of top five hits and this is drawn more from the band's darker side which was never far from the surface.

The song is about a banned 1967 novel, not maths.
