Track of the Week - 23 December 2018
One of the advantages of not working (or even having to go out that much if I don't want to) is being able to avoid Christmas song playlists that run on a loop in offices and shops at this time of year.
If I do run in to those songs somewhere on my travels it's very unlikely that I'll hear one of my Christmas favourites - Louis Armstrong's 'Zat You Santa Claus.
I hadn't realised it's actually based on a 1921 Christmas carol but jazz great Armstrong and backing band the Commanders make it their own in this 1953 classic.
As Christmas Eve won't be on a Sunday for another five years I'm getting this while I still do this nonsense - and it must be Christmas Eve in Australia by now.
Merry Christmas.
