Altered Images: See Those Eyes

Track of the Week - 9 February 2020

Time for another of my regular eye condition check-up this week. Three different people wanted a look this time which I think is a new record.

As so many people wanted to see my eyes this week I can go with See Those Eyes by Altered Images. I was a big fan of this early 80s Scottish post-punk/new wave/pop outfit, and lead singer Clare Grogan autographed my arm once. (You're right, I didn't wash it for a week.)

See Those Eyes reached number 11 in 1982. The group were now in mainstream pop territory and their second album Pinky Blue wasn't as well received as their debut. A shake-up of the group saw a more sophisticated sound for their third and final album a year later.

As for why the video is set in Portmeirion and references cult tv show The Prisoner? - your guess is as good as mine.
