Kylie Minogue: Please Stay

Track of the Week - 29 March 2020

I think what the wonderful Kylie Minogue is trying to say here is please Stay at Home. Protect the NHS. Save Lives.

She's so incredible she was singing Please Stay as long ago as 2000 on a single that got to number 15. Coincidence or precognition*? You decide.

The video is contradictory though. The first part clearly shows Miss Minogue obeying current UK Government guidelines to self-isolate but part way through she slides down a pole into a packed bar which is absolutely not what we should be doing in these difficult times.

The only logical explanation is that the pole and beachside bar segment is a dream sequence. The sleeping Kylie's subconscious mind is looking forward to the post-social distancing times when we can all go out again and dance around pool tables. In our pants.

Be like Kylie. Please Stay (indoors). Unless it's for food, exercise (once a day), health reasons or work (but only if you can't work from home.)

* If it is precognition I'm sure Kylie couldn't have understood the full implications. If Kylie could have foreseen the impact of the coronavirus outbreak almost 20 years prior to it happening I'm convinced she'd have been straight on to world leaders telling them to be adequately prepared.

She'd have pushed for more ventilators and a properly staffed and fully protected NHS. It's just the way she is.
